|1-THE DEATH PENALTY
By Zebedee of Carnage
Wow! We sure have some real narrow minded people out there! Has
anyone watched Executions? (cert 18, 55mins, distributed by NTV
Entertainment Limited) I have an original copy sitting on my lap now
(yes, I bought it!) and here is an extract from the back:
"The images of death, drawn from around the world, are as shocking as
they are tragic. But only by witnessing them and understanding their
background can you hope to decide for yourself when, if ever, execution
is the punishment that fits the crime."
It says on the front cover, "This film should shock, because the truth
hurts." There is a large warning at the bottom of the front which reads,
"WARNING This video contains real footage of executions that you may
find shocking and disturbing."
I've had it for about four months, maybe longer, and I've only watched
it twice. This sort of material doesn't shock me in the slightest. It
goes into different methods of execution, including beheading, firing
squad, stoning and goes in-depth about the Nazis during WWII and more.

The makers of the video claim that no crime
warrants execution. They must be talking out
their arse. Capital punishment is required in
todays way of living. Let's face it, our law
system is a joke. Someone I knew well killed my
best friend in 1992 through wreckless driving
near Tiverton. The victim was only 15 at the
time and all the driver got was a three year
driving ban and six months inside. But because
he was 17 when he committed the crime and had
his 18th birthday a couple days after the
accident, he still went to a youth centre! How
much of the sentence did he serve? Only about 2.5 to 3 months.
Sure, minor things like vandalism and theft doesn't warrant the death
penalty, but murderers, child killers/molesters, rapists and the like
certainly do! I agree in capital punishment but being executed just for
being of the wrong religion or whatever IS wrong. Unfortunately,
there's not much, if anything at all, we can do about it!
I'm not saying any more on this subject as I could go on for ages and
fill quite a few screens.
[I watched EXECUTIONS and thought it was sick. Thats my own opinion I
guess as you pointed out, some people have a higher tolerance than
others. Kei]
